ATO Tax Return processing delays |
Unfortunately the ATO has picked January to be doing the biggest update to their systems for the first time in 40 years. This has resulted in delays to processing of tax returns lodged in Janruary. The upgrade has resulted in some notable errors, including: - Clients receive a Notice of Assessment without a refund
- Clients receive a refund without a Notice of Assessment
- Tax Returns which we have lodged aren't showing up as being lodged in the ATO call centre's system

Also, On 24 Febuary 2010 we received an email from the ATO stating that they hope to complete the processing of the Tax Returns by the end of Febuary.
