SJB Accounting Services is a firm of Certified Practicing Accountants, with offices in Sydney and the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. As professional accountants and registered tax agents we provide taxation, accounting and management services to individuals, businesses and other entities.

Joel Bentley founded SJB Accounting Services as S & J.B. Pty Limited in 1992. Our first office was in the Central Coast as was the majority of our client base. We have since expanded to Sydney and our client base has expanded internationally. In 2005, the ATO informed us that our firm was the largest single-partner accounting firm in Australia.

Our values


SJB Accounting Services is a family owned and run business. As such, our approach to our clients is very warm and relaxed. Our approach to our staff is that of long-term employment and we try to foster a friendly family atmosphere. We believe it is this attitude to our staff that helps give them the motivation they need to serve our clients as best they can.

What is a CPA? 


 A CPA - Certified Practising Accountant - is a professional in accounting and in business.

To be eligible to enter a study program to become a CPA a person must first hold an accredited undergraduate degree, such as a university business or commerce degree, and have three years of supervised experience in accounting, finance or business.

Once a candidate becomes a CPA they are bound by a strict Professional Code of Conduct, which prohibits illegal and unethical behaviour. A CPA is bound to undertake Continuing Professional Development each year. This involves attending lectures, seminars and discussion groups regularly every year for the duration of membership as a CPA.

When your accountant is a CPA you are dealing with someone who has studied accounting for many years, has had extensive hands on experience in an accounting firm or an accounting related business, and is keeping up to scratch on new developments in the accounting field.
